Altuglas International, a subsidiary of the Arkema Group, has developed specially for Bic Sport a high-performance acrylic resin: Altuglas® HFI10 UVP10. The result is an unrivalled durable surface for SUP   (Stand Up Paddle) boards, a specific “Leisure" application marketed all over the world.

Altuglas® HFI10 UVP10 was able to respond to BIC Sport’s need to develop a new range of high gloss coloured boards reflecting the new market trends at the same time as meeting the requirements for quality and durability, the trademark of BIC Sport.

“The Altuglas® HFI10 UVP10 resin, intended for co-extrusion on ABS, is produced in the form of granules on the Arkema site in Rho, in Italy. It gives a high gloss surface finish with great depth of colour. It acts as a real shield, protecting the underlying layer of ABS. Altuglas® HFI10 UVP10 offers the optimum trade-off between resistance to shocks and scratches and climatic ageing, giving the SUP   board an exceptional stability of appearance,” stresses Benoit André, PMMA Resins Development Manager, based in Cerdato, the Arkema Polymers Centre of Expertise.

SUP users can go on surfing year after year, on coloured boards that never lose their pristine appearance. Altuglas® HFI10 UVP10 opens up new horizons in the world of surfing!
